Carl Merkle | Author of KIDNAPPED
I am Carl N. Merkle, author of KIDNAPPED — A Memoir of Faith & Injustice and founder of Truth, Justice & Accountability. I live in San Antonio, Texas. I am a retired certified public accountant and auditor, with experience as an enforcement accountant at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and in treasury work.
My professional background shapes the way I approach a record: follow the documents, examine the accounting, compare claims with supporting evidence, and ask who is accountable.
Why I founded TJA
My experience in bankruptcy proceedings, confinement, and years of litigation led me to write KIDNAPPED and publish my account alongside source documents. I have also spoken repeatedly during public comment at San Antonio City Council.
I believe I was wrongfully confined and that the record raises serious questions about the conduct of attorneys and public officials. Those are my allegations. TJA gives readers access to my testimony and the supporting record so they can examine my account.
Faith and public responsibility
I believe Christ is King. I understand America’s founding documents as sacred, not secular, and I see Christ as their spiritual cornerstone. This is the Christian interpretation I explain through TJA, with links to the documents and Scripture that inform it.
I believe our nation needs the humility, prayer, repentance, and return to God described in 2 Chronicles 7:14. The practical response begins with examining our own conduct and growing in Christlike character. My faith shapes my understanding of events; legal allegations must be examined against evidence and applicable law.
